Mid-term poll not to be imposed on the nation - Lalu

Samastipur, Oct 9 (UNI) RJD supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today categorically stated that mid-term poll would not be imposed on the nation.

Mr Prasad, who was here in connection with an official function of his Ministry, told UNI that the Left and the alliance partners of the UPA were ''united'' and the '' The UPA government at the Centre is not under threat. '' Apparently in jubiliant mood following the positive outcome of a lengthy UPA-Left panel meeting on the Indo-US Nuclear deal, Mr Prasad said neither was UPA nor Left in favour of mid-term election and claimed that there was ''no difference of opinion between the left and the UPA''.

He said the crisis, which precipitated over 123 Nuke deal with the USA, would be resolved through dialogues.

Highlighting the role of the RJD in handling the crisis over the Nuke deal, Mr Prasad said since the beginning his party was keen on avoidiing the mid-term poll.
