L&T secures Rs 693 crore order from Indian Oil Corporation

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T), country's largest engineering company, today said it has received a project worth Rs 693 crore from oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to set up sulphur recovery units.

These units would help IOC produce low-sulphur clean fuels to meet regulatory requirements, as it intends to set up these sulphur recovery plants as part of their fuels upgradation project, a company statement said.

The order comprises two trains of 300 tonnes per day sulphur recovery units (EPCC-5) along with associated facilities such as amine regeneration unit sour water stripper and tail gas treatment unit for enhanced sulfur recovery up to 99.9 per cent.

Toyo Engineering India Ltd has been retained by IOC to provide services for project management consultancy (PMC) and Black and Veatch (US) are the process licensors, it added.
