Jamuna seeks rehabilitation for MPSRTC employees
Bhopal, Oct 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi today urged Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to close down State Road Transport Corporation (MPSRTC) only after ensuring rehabilitation of its employees.
In a letter to Mr Chouhan, Ms Devi said it would be inhuman as well as illegal to shutdown the corporation without making arrangements for its 1,300 employees.
She asked Mr Chouhan to not go ahead with the decision to denationalise certain national highways reserved for the corporation.
Describing the decision to close down the MPSRTC as violation of labour laws, she said the Union Labour Ministry has sent a notice to the MPSTRC Managing Director for completing requirements as labour laws.
Under such circumstances, the proceedings to close down the corporation could be declared void.
