Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) A two-day international conference on technical textiles will be held during the 'Textile Days India 2007' fair, which will open here tomorrow.
The four-day fair is being organized by Messe Frankfurt, a Frankfurt-based leading corporate exhibition group.
During the event, three major brands -- Heimtextil India, Texworld India and Techtextil India -- will participate and conduct forums, symposiums and presentations.
''The fair will be an opportunity for sourcing, selling, buying and entering into joint ventures,'' German Industry of Fashion and Textile President Peter Schwartze said.
''The event will showcase a range of technical textiles from Germany for Indian companies to take advantage of the research work of German companies,'' Messe Frankfurt India MD Shammi Nagpal added.
The textile market is the second largest industry in India after agriculture. Globally, the country is the second largest producer of textiles after China and employs about 35 million people.
The present domestic market of almost USD 47 billion is expected to grow to USD 95 billion by 2010.
