Head Constable transferred; MHAA continues court boycott
Chennai, Oct 9 (UNI) The controversial Head Constable attached to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital Outpost Police Station was transferred, even as the boycott of courts by the Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) demanding action against him for assaulting two advocates, entered the fourth day here today.
Police said based on initial investigations conducted by Joint Commissioner (North) M Ravi, departmental action had been initiated against him and was transferred.
Meanwhile, the unrelenting advocates staged a fast to press their demand and also submitted a memorandum to Tamil Nadu Law Minister Duraimurugan demanding immediate action against the police constable.
The advocates shouted slogans against the police and the hospital employees condemning their high-handedness and demanded action against the hospital staff and the cop.
The advocates said they would not end their stir unless action was taken against the erring personnel.
