Ambala, Oct 9 (UNI) The Haryana Postal Circle is among the three most profit earning circles in the country, the other two being Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, Haryana Circle Chief Postmaster General Prithvi Raj Kumar said here today.
Speaking at the National Postal Week to mark the World Post Day being observed from October 9-13, Mr Kumar said postal services were getting popular again because of its reliability and regular service.
He said that the Postal Speed Service was getting precedence to courier services because of its reliability. He pointed out that courier services were operating without legal permission and six vehicles were confiscated misusing the name of the Postal Service.
He said that on the demand of the public, six new post offices were being opened in Gurgaon, two in Panchkula besides, 15 sub POs and eight branch offices at different places in the state.
Mr Kumar said that his Circle had drawn up plans to celebrate the World Post Day and National Postal Week with various activities like business development, Philately Day, Saving Bank Day, Postal Life Insurance and Mails Day among others.
He also distributed Dak Sewa and other awards for excellent performance by the employees and officers.
