Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) Konkana Sen Sharma, daughter of the highly acclaimed film-maker Aparna Sen, makes a transformation from a non-conventional actress into mainstream Bollywood with Yashraj films much-discussed latest movie 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag'.

The actress said out of three locations, where the film was shot, Mumbai, Varanasi and Switzerland, Varanasi was the most exciting and intense. ''It was the first time, I visited the place and I was so obsessed with the ancient and relgious city. The ghats, rivers and the temples--they leave you with a divine feeling''.

In a media interaction on the eve of the release of her film, Konkana said like her character in the film, she in real life too shared a very strong sibling bond with her elder sister.

''My character's name is Shubhavari Sahay alias Chutki. Chutki is a very lively kind of a girl, full of life, very intelligent, She's sharp, has a mind of her own and she is quite uncompromising in her stance in her outlook towards life in general. I do relate to the character Chutki a lot, I would agree with her on every subject but by and large she is someone whose attitude I like, whose vivacity I like and I would like to think that I am like that in some way'', said Konkana, who made her debut in mother Aparna Sen's film 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' a few years ago and went on to act in off beat films like 'Amu', 'Metro', 'Omkara', 'Traffic Signal' and 'Page 3'.

Konkana said the music of ''Laaga Chunari Mein Daag'' has lot of variety. ''Hum to Aise Hai Bhaiya'' is very different from the title track ''Laaga Chunari mein Daag'', which is very different from ''Ek teekhi teekhi si Ladki''. It will appeal to many different kinds of people. ''In retrospect I think ''Hum to Aise hai bhaiya'' is probably the best track because it has the most flavour of Benaras, of the two sisters, it's the beginning of the film and it has so many memories for me''.

To a question about experience of working with director Pradeep Sarkar, Konkana admitted that she was quiet nervous on the sets on whether she was doing things correctly. ''I used to be little scared of Dada (Pradeep Sarkar) initially but through the working of the film we got along well'', she recalled.

Konkana described Jaya Bachchan, who plays her mother in the film, as a warm and gracious person. Speaking about Rani Mukherjee, she said ''Rani was a gifted actress and the chemistry we shared during the shooting shows on the screen''.

The actress said she was very comfortable with working with her co-star in the movie Kunal Kapoor. ''We share a very fine rapport''.

Konkana said she valued her mother Aparna's advice and always discussed with her the offers she is getting in Bollywood.
