Ahmedabad, Oct 8 (UNI) Lok Sabha member Ratilal K Verma has accused the Narmada Bachao Andolan of colluding with foreign organisations to ''influence justice''.

While making the accusation, Mr Verma has sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's intervention and suitable action in this regard.

In a three-page letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Verma, who is an MP from Gujarat, said e-mail correspondence between US-based International Rivers Network ex director Patrick Mecully and NBA leader Medha Patkar is a disturbing evidence of collusion between the NGO and foreign organisation in influencing justice in the country.

He accused the NBA of being actively involved in activities in the ''name of environmental alarmism'' and obstructing India's growth.

Mr Verma referred to a public interest litigation filed by Ahmedabad-based NGO National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL) in the Supreme Court against NBA and Ms Patkar alleging that the latter were receiving foreign funds. But, the Apex Court had dismissed the petition.

Mr Verma has said in his letter to the Prime Minister, ''More disturbing evidence of NBA's nefarious collusion with foreign elements has emerged in immediate aftermath of the Supreme Court verdict as can be seen from the e-mails,'' Mr Verma said.
