Cong asks Gov to dismiss Kumaraswamy Govt
Bangalore, Oct 8 (UNI) The main opposition party in Karnataka, the Congress today urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to dismiss the ''Minority'' Kumaraswamy Government following withdrawal of support by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Party State Leaders, including Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President M Mallikarjuna Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N Dharam Singh, met the Governor and submitted individual letters from MLAs stating that they did not wish to support the Kumaraswamy-led government.
Earlier, Congress General Secretary In-charge of Karnataka Prithviraj Chauhan met the Governor and held discussions with him for two hours on the latest political situation in the state.
The BJP, which withdrew support to the government following the refusal of coalition partner Janata Dal (S) to transfer power as agreed upon 20 months ago, today began a state-wide campaign against the JD(S) from Tumkur.
