New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The BJP today distanced itself from senior NDA leader George Fernandes' assessment that the BJP-Janata Dal (United) government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar had failed totally in delivering its promises made to the people.
''There are 'personal views' of Mr Fernandes and the BJP doesn't agree with him,'' BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar told newspersons here. ''We find the J D (U)-BJP coalition working to the best of its ability and the governance was upto the mark,'' he added.
Asked about Mr Fernandes' meeting convicted Bihar Vikas Party leader Anand Mohan Singh at Beur jail, the BJP spokesman said he could not comment upon the personal actions of the NDA leader.
Meanwhile, Mr Fernandes also clarified that he had not demanded the ouster of Bihar government but the UPA government at the Centre.
''My mind is always focussed on the UPA government and my response was referred to that government,'' he clarified.
