AMU to institute Sir Ahmad Khan Award

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today announced to institute Sir Ahmad Khan Award.

The Executive Council of the University approved the proposal and a four-member committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of University's Honorary Treasurer Mahfooz Ahmad to evolve a system to raise funds.

The other membres of the Committee are Mr Zafar Yab Jillian, Mr P A Inamdar and Prof Habibur Rahman.

The Committee would approach the University Grants Commission for Rs 1 crore as corpus to the award, a University release said here.

AMU Vice-Chancellor P K Abdul Aziz has been authorised to constitute a committee for selecting the winner of the award.
