3 militants shot dead, 2 nabbed in Manipur

At
least
three
militants
were
killed
and
two
nabbed
in
two
separate
incidents
by
the
Manipur
police.
Police
here
today
said
a
joint
team
of
Imphal
East
police
commandos
and
troops
of
32
Assam
Rifles
launched
an
operation
at
Imphal
East
yesterday
and
shot
dead
two
suspected
People's
United
Liberation
Front
(PULF)
cadres.
The bodies were kept at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for indentification, police said adding that one AK 56 rifle, one magazine, five live rounds, one 9 mm pistol and a magazine with four rounds were recovered.
In yet another incident, one suspected ultra was shot dead by the security escorts of Lamphel MLA N G Bijoy here last night.
The Imphal West District Police Commandos had also apprehended a cadre of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) yesterday.
Imphal West Superintendent of Police Clay Khongsai said the militant identified as Boicha had got basic military training at Mingda in Myanmar.
Meanwhile, troops of 4 Assam Rifles launched operation at Kongba Huiren Leikai, Imphal East and nabbed a cadre of United National Liberation Front (UNLF).
