Rise in human trafficking alarming: Renuka
Guntur, Oct 7 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdary today expressed concern over the alarming cases of human trafficking in Andhra Pradesh.
Inaugurating the regional meet of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on 'Combating trafficking in women' in the State here, she said many women from the state were lured into flesh trade and attributed the prevalence of the social evil to socio-economic factors.
''Gender discrimination and female foeticides have already posed a grave situation of gender disparity in some States,'' she added.
