Patiala, Sep 13 (UNI) In the inaugural Punjab Inter-District Women's Cricket Tournament, hosts Patiala were reeling at 73 for 5 in 38 overs against Sangrur on the opening day of the 2-day tie at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Winning the toss in the morning and opting to bat first, Sangrur were 136 all out in 55 overs. Priyanka batted exceptionally well to score a well-crafted 74 with the help of 9 fours. She faced 136 balls.
Pallavi was the other batswoman to get into double figures with 17 runs.
For Patiala, Moksha bowled well to capture 3 wickets, conceding 23 runs, while Deepika Sharma took 2 for 19.
In reply, Patiala were 73 for 5 at close of play. Gurpreet Attili was unbeaten on 28 and Deepika Sharma was 13 not out.
For Sangrur, Priyanka Garg and Sharanjit Kaur bagged two wickets each, giving away 28 and 23 runs respectively.
