Girls come out with mobile phone charger
Puducherry, Oct 7 (UNI) At a time when women claim equal status with men in all fields, a group of young girls from the government women's polytechnic here, claimed to have invented a mobile phone charger using wind energy giving credence to the demand.
Ashtalakshmi, Tamilselvi, Geetha, Sreedevi, Priya, Sharmi Rose and Vijayalakshmi, pursuing Electronic and Communication Engineering, approached their lecturer Gandhi Mohan to guide them for a presentation on technology competetion during Renewable Energy Resources Day Under Mr Mohan's guidance, the girls started working on a project to make a mobile phone charger using wind energy,according to Mr Kripagaran, a lecturer with the same polytechnic.
Talking to UNI here, Mr Kripagaran said with untiring efforts, the girls developed the charger which could be used only for Nokia phones as they could be charged with 3.7 volts. He said the device contained a small fan, small motor,charger circuit and battery.
