Elderly woman alleges physical assault by industrialist brother

Shimla, Oct 7 (UNI) An elderly woman here in Himachal Pradesh has accused her industrialist elder brother of physically assaulting her on October three, earlier this week, following a family dispute.

''My elder brother, DC Anand, assaulted me on at Baldeyan on the outskirts of the town on October three at about 1730 hrs, while I was on my way home after evening walk,'' Urmila Sawhney, 70, said at a press conference here.

She said after getting down from his car on the pretext that he wanted to her, he took out his walking stick and started beating me with stick, kicks and slaps.

Apprehending threat to her life and her younger brother from the industrial brother, she said the attack on her was due to a family dispute between the brothers and had nothing to do with it.

Ms Sawhney also showed injury marks on her left leg and other parts, alleging that her brother was trying to terrorise them.

Satish Anand, her younger brother, who was also present at the press conference, said they apprehend threat to their life and the police should provide them protection.

The police has registered a case under Sections 341,323, 506 and 34 of the IPC on her complaint and said they were investigating it.
