Hyderabad, Oct 7 (UNI) Referring to AICC President Sonia Gandhi's stand on mid-term general elections, former BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu today said his party was also ready to face them.

Addressing the press here, Mr Naidu said 'Ms Gandhi, willingly or unwillingly, made it clear her party was ready for snap polls.

''The UPA had become a Divided Progressive Alliance (DPA). Mid term elections were the only solution for the present political crisis in the country,'' he said.

Alleging the UPA lost its popularity and disillusionment was increasing among the partners, he said 'the UPA was a directionless and useless government.' Stating the rift between the Left and the Congress was increasing by the day on foreign policy, labour reforms and UPA's pro-America policies, the BJP leader said 'stability would be an important agenda in the next elections in the country.' The UPA had failed to run the seven-party coalition government even as the NDA ran 23-party government successfully, he added.
