Bangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna today adjourned hearing on disqualification of 37 Janata Dal (Secular) legislators including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, to October 12.

It may be recalled here that former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda had written to the Speaker announcing suspension of party MLAs who had joined hands with Bharatiya Janata Party for forming a coalition government after withdrawing support to Congress in 2006.

Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj, who had filed a petition with the Speaker, in his argument demanded immediate action on disqualification of JD(S) MLAs including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. He also termed the recent decision of the Cabinet to convene Assembly Session on October 18, as unconstitutional.

JD(S) MLAs, during hearing today urged the Speaker to invite Mr Gowda to depose before him (Speaker) on the letter. However, it was opposed by Mr Vatal Nagraj who stated that there was no need to ask Mr Gowda to depose since the letter itself is a good proof for having dismissed the party Legislators for having joined hands with BJP.
