Noted jurist and ambassador L M Singhvi passes away
New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Eminent jurist and constitutional expert L M Singhvi died here this afternoon following a prolonged illness.
He was 76. He is survived by his wife Kamla, son Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who is the Congress spokesperson, and daughter Abhilasha.
Singhvi, who had been suffering from heart ailments, had been admitted to the Max Hospital in South Delhi two weeks ago.
The end came at 1345 hrs. The body has been kept at his South Extension residence to enable his well-wishers to pay their last respects. The cremation will take place tomorrow morning at the Lodhi crematorium, family sources said.
Born in 1931 in Jodhpur, Singhvi was the High Commissioner for India in the UK. He was conferred upon Padma Bhushan in 1998. He has also written several books.
