Mental, physical torture of school children not to be tolerated
New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Describing as 'shameful' the alleged stripping of a six-year-old girl of a school located at Mohan Garden in West Delhi, chairman of the MCD Standing Committee Vijender Gupta today warned the primary schools recognised by MCD that mental and physical torture of any student will not be tolerated.
''Recognition of such schools will be cancelled if any such incident is reported,'' Mr Gupta told mediapersons.
Mr Gupta said senior officers of Education Department of MCD have also been alerted that strict action will be initiated against those officers found guilty of conniving with such schools.
He also appealed to the Parent Teachers Associations that they should stay vigilant and if any such incident comes to their notice, they should immediately inform Director, Primary Education, MCD.
On this occasion, Mr Gupta said that Municipal Corporation of Delhi has rejected the proposal of giving recognition to the above mentioned Star Shine Public School. The proposal was rejected in a meeting of the Standing Committee held on September 26.
