Kangra and Sundernagar to clash in Cricket final

Dharamshala, Oct 6 (UNI) Kangra and Sundernagar Polytechnic Colleges have entered the finals in Cricket defeating Hamirpur and Rohru on the second day of the three day 13 Inter Polytechnic Sports Meet being held at Kangra.

In the semifinal Kangra scored 75 runs for 8 in 20 overs and defeated Hamirpur by two wickets. Hamirpur were all out for 74. In the second semi-final Sunder nagar entered the finals by defeating Rohru by 8 wickets. Sunsernagar Scored 60 for 1 in 20 overs and Rohru scored 59 for 9. Kangra and Sunder Nagar would clash tomorrow in the final.

Earlier, Rohru defeated Chamba by one run to reach semifinal of cricket. Rohru scored 83 for 9 while Chamba was all out for 82 runs.

In the Basket Ball host Kangra and Sundernagar entered the finals by defeating Rohru and Hamipur respectively in two semifinals today. Kangra defeated Rohru by 40:20 and Sunder Nagar defeated Hamirpur by 55:21 in a one sided game. Nitish of Sundernagar scored 22 baskets out of 55 single handed.

In Table Tennis girls host Kangra bagged the final both in the singles and doubles. Sucheta of Kangra defeated Risha of Amboata in Singles by 11:4 and 11:1 and in the doubles Sucheta and Priyanka of kangra defeated the Amboata team of Risha and Joyti in a one sided match by 11:4 and 11:6.

In Table Tennis Boys in the first semifinal Host Kangra Arjeet defeated Parveen of Rphru in the Semi Final by 11: 4, 11:9 and in the doubles Arjeet and Vijay of Kangra defeated Parveen and Nitish of Rohru by 11:5 and 13: 11. In the second semifinal Vinod of Hamirpur defeated Baldev of Ambota by 11:5, 9:11 and 11:7 and in the doubles Vinod and Chander Bushan of Hamirpur defeated Baldev and Tarkshwa of Ambota by 11:8 and 11:5 in a one sided game.

In Badminton girls in singles Meenakshi of Kandaghat defeated Sawati of Kangra by 22:20 and 21:19 in a well contested match, Rajni of Hamirpur defeated Gulshan of Ambota by 21:14 and 21:18 and Sheetal of Hamirpur defeated Palvi of Ambota by 21:6 and 21:7 in a one sided match. Doubles were won by Hamirpur and Kandaghat.

In badminton boys Laximikant of Ambota entered the finals in the singles defeating Anurag of host college by 19:21, 21:13 ans 21:12 and in doubles Tarkeshwar and Laxmikantv of Ambota defeated the host Anurag and Rakseh by 21:17 and 21:14 to enter the finals. In another semifinal Mohd Rafiq of Sundernagar entered the finals by defeating yogesh of Rohruby 21:6 and 21:17 and in the doubles Ajay and Amit of Rohru entered the finals by defeating Sundernagar by 21:13, 10:21 and 21:13.

In reverse Single Rajesh of Sunder Nagar defeated Ajay of Rohru by 21:18 and 21:13.
