Kangra, Oct 6 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Kangra bus stand here after the contractor constructing the bus stand under Build Operate and transfer (BOT) scheme blocked the entrance and exit of the bus stand when he was not allowed to collect the 'adda' (stand) fee by HRTC authorities.

As the HRTC officials, headed by the Regional manager, began collecting the stand fee of Rs 20 per bus for the contractor Pushp Rajan who was allotted the contract earlier by the authorities, the workers of Construction Company blocked the entrance of the bus stand for the vehicles.

The trouble resulted in the traffic blockade on the Highway adjacent to the bus stand and police was called in by HRTC to restore the traffic and remove the blockade at the entrance of the bus stand.

According to Mr Vijay Sood Contractor of the bus stand, Bus Stand Development Management Authority ( CEO BSDMA) had allowed him to collect the fee following the receipt of the Provisional Completion Certificate issued by the competent authority.

However, Mr Sood said he was intimated by a fax mEssage from CEO BSDMA yesterday as the bus stand was lacking the facilities, he should stop collecting stand fee.

Mr Sood claimed that facilities were complete in the bus stand and buses were using it for the last three months.
