Centre to spend Rs 400 cr to enhance BSNL service in J'khand
Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communication, Information and Broadcasting Shakeel Ahmed today announced plans to enhance communication facilitites in Jharkhand with an investment of Rs 400 crore in the next fiscal.
After inagurating a mobile switching centre here, Mr Ahmed said the state government had planned to spend 50 per cent of the money for the rural areas.
Mr Ahmed said at present Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) had about five lakh mobile phone consumers and it would be enhanced to 16 lakh after expanding the communication services in the state.
Mr Ahmed said phone service provided by BSNL was the cheapest in the country and appealed to the officials to maintain the dignity of the compnay.
