Young married woman murdered
Kolhapur, Oct 4 (UNI) A 22-year-old married woman was strangled to death by her husband at a hotel in Shahupuri area here.
The woman, identified as Rajarshi Shrikant Gaikwad, a teacher and resident of village Vadilgaon-Kadve in Shahuwadi tehsil of the district, was found murdered in the hotel, said Shahupuri police inspector G P Dabade today.
Mr Dabade told UNI that Rajarshri was married to Shrikant, hailing from Vairag village in Solapur district, in December 2005 and presently was staying with her mother in Shahuwadi tehsil.
The couple and their three-month-old son entered the lodge, where they had booked a room. Shrikant consumed liquor that night.
On hearing child's cries, hotel owner knocked door but there was no response then he complained the police, who broke open the hotel room and found Rajarshi strangled.
Shrikant has been absconding, he added.
