Motors
will
target
the
South
Indian
market
for
its
newly
launched
Safari
range
with
new
generation
2.2
litre
common
rail
diesel
engine.
Talking to newspersons here today, Tata Motors Vice-President S Krishnan said ''we expect to sell more in South India as our earlier vehicles have registered a phenomenal sales here.'' Priced at Rs 7.38 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai), the newly launched 2.2 VTT Dicor engine was equipped with a specially designed turbo charger, he said.
The engine provided a wide torque and was quieter and more fuel efficient, he claimed.
