Pak's interest would be prime concern: Azeem
Islamabad, Oct 5: The ongoing talks with Pakistan People's Party would continue even after the completion of presidential elections, Minister for State for Information and Broadcasting Tariq Azeem said.
''Government's reconciliation efforts have no direct links with the impending elections,'' he said.
Regarding the PPP's demand to amend the Constitution paving the way for party chief Benazir Bhutto to become Prime Minister for the third time, Mr Azeem said the national interest would be kept supreme in talks with the party.
He also rejected speculation that the US was facilitating talks between the government and the PPP, saying Pakistan is a sovereign country.
