SME consortium on membership expansion spree

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Small and Medium Enterprise Consortium, floated by Non-Resident Indians from the USA, started its office in the city to liaison with the Andhra Pradesh Government to create world class IT infrastructure in the State.

The Consortium, with over 60 members, was planning to become a 200-member body in the next two months, a SMEC release here today said.

SMEC had decided to appoint media professional V Subba Rao to oversee the operations in the IT Park project, its Chairman M Mahender said.

The Consortium planned to invest Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 3,000 crore to create an integrated SME campus in the State and in the process generate around 25,000 jobs, he added.
