Rodent delays flight
Chennai, Oct 5: The departure of a Port Blair-bound Jet Airways flight from here was delayed by nearly four hours after a rodent was found on board the plane.
Airport sources said the aircraft with 108 passengers was set for take off at 0615 hrs when the passengers noticed a rodent moving about. As the passengers shouted on seeing the rodent which was freely moving inside the aircraft, the pilot sought permission from authorities to alight the passengers.
The aircraft was then fumigated following which the rodent was killed. Authorities thoroughly checked the aircraft to ensure there was no damage to the wires and equipment. Finally, the flight left for Port Blair at around 1000 hrs after suffering a delay of nearly four hours.
