Ram Sethu: Bitta threatens to commit martyrdom

Hardwar, Oct 5 (UNI) Chairman of the All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) and former president of the All India Youth Congress M S Bitta today said that he, along with a hundred volunteers of his Shahidi Jatha, would commit 'shahadat(martyrdom)' the moment any attempt was made to demolish the Ram Sethu.

Lambasting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Mr Bitta told mediapersons here that ''the spirit of Ravana had entered Mr Karunanidhi's body'' and that he was ''a modern Ravana''.

He added that they would burn the Chief Minister in effigy along with that of Ravana on the occasion of Dussehra.

''The Ram Sethu issue shiould not be politicised,'' Mr Bitta said and asked the religious teachers, including those of Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam and Christianity, to unite to check the increasing tendency of insulting religions and their icons.

He also demanded that a white paper be issued by the Union government on how the conspiracy to denegrate Lord Ram came to be hatched.
