Osram to double production capacity with new palnt in Kundli
Sonepat, Oct 5 (UNI) Osram, a leading lighting manufacturer, will double its production capacity within next three years by building a second plant at Kundli in Haryana with investment of midterm EUR 15-20 million.
''India is a key focus for Osram in Asia pacific as there is tremendous potential for energy efficient lighting solutions in this countrty,'' the global president and chief executive officer of Osram said here after the ground breaking ceremony of the ground plant here yesterday.
The concept of introduction of energy saving lamps was part of United Nations approved programme for a Clean Development Mechanism to reduce CO2 emissions, he added .
Earlier, ground breaking ceremony of the plant was performed by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM claimed that the state had achieved the highest per capita investment of Rs 78,500 and the state government was committed to achieve the target of Rs 2,00,000 crore capital investment.
The state government had submitted 87 SEZ proposals for approval of the Central government and approval in principal has already been given to 57 SEZ proposals, he said.
