Chandigarh, Oct 5 (UNI) World renowned architect Moshe Safdie today held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to discuss the Khalsa Heritage Complex (KHC) project coming up at Anandpur Sahib.
This prestigious project was the dream project of Mr Badal and was started during the tricentenary of the 'Khalsa Panth' in 1999 at the Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the 'Khalsa'.
The Israeli architect discussed the current status of the construction and development works of the project.
M Moshe Safdie was accompanied by his wife Mrs Michal Safdie, Mr Ashok Dhawan, Associate Architect, Mr Robert Barnett, President, Cultural Innovation Ltd( London), Mr Amar Behl, Design Specialist, AB Design Habit ( New Delhi) and Mr N K Puri, Project Regional Manager, L&T.
While discussing the various aspects related to the project, Mr Safdie, expressed his satisfaction over the quality of work.
It was also informed in the meeting that a major portion of the work on the project had already been completed at a cost of Rs 122.80 crore. Approximately 95 per cent of the work had been completed and the remaining work including the stainless steel roof cladding, internal finishing, site development works, exhibit design and landscaping would be finished soon.
Presently the work of Complex-A and B was in full swing and would be completed by next month.
