HUJI leader's brother remanded to police custody
Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) A local court today remanded Majid, brother of Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI) Commander Shahed alias Bilal, to police custody till October 11 in connection with the twin blasts that rocked this city on August 25.
The 12th Additional Metropolitan Magistrate remanded Majid to police custody, based on a petition filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) police, probing the blast case, seeking custody of Majid.
Consequently, he was taken into police custody from the Cherlapalli jail, where he was lodged.
Police had arrested Majid recently in the city in connection with the twin blasts. Bilal, triggering terrorist activities from Bangladesh by recruiting Muslim youth in Hyderabad, was suspected to be the mastermind behind the blasts.
Another accused in the case Rizwan Ghazi's judicial remand was extended by 14 days. Rizwan, a Bangladeshi overstaying in the city, was arrested in Bangalore recently. His features were similar to the sketch of the accused released by the police.
