Business Objects announces India Development Centre

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Business Objects, a global provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the opening of its India Development Centre (IDC) in Bangalore.

''The IDC reinforces our focus on India and it extends our aim of operating on a truly global delivery scale both from a R&D and a business perspective,'' company's Senior Vice-President and General Manager ( Asia Pacific and Japan) Keth Budge said in a statement.

''IDC will enable us to effectively maximise our research and development facilities while maintaining our focus on bringing localised products faster to the market,'' Mr Budge said.

Business Objects' three global R&D facilities are located in Canada, France and China.

The IDC at present employs over 300 engineers and eyes to add another 200 staff by 2010.

''The BI market is growing at double-digit rates, necessitating need for rapid and sustained innovation. The IDC will focus on development of cutting-edge products that map to the current global trends in BI,'' said Business Objects' Vice-President and head Srivibhavan Balaram.
