Ally BJP slams govt for lawlessness in Nagaland
Kohima, Oct 5 (UNI) The Nagaland unit of BJP, a coalition partner of the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland(DAN), has expressed its concern over failure of the DAN Government in maintaining law and order in the state.
BJP state General Secretary Eduzu Th Vadeo in a release today said the incidence of killing, extortion, looting and illegal taxation in the state had been on the rise, but the state government had justified its inability and helplessness by terming these as mere political problems and not a grave law and order issue.
The DAN should take corrective measures at the earliest, the BJP demanded and expressed its unhappiness over the indulgence in nepotism and bias in awarding of work and supply orders and siphoning off Rs 25 crore from the Industrial Transport Subsidy.
It also said compensation should be paid at the earliest for the victims of those 30 houses at Jalukie-Zandi and at the Inavi Villages that were razed to the ground.
The ruling partner also said the agreement of ceasefire ground rules should be enforced in full by all parties without any fear and prejudices.
It further demanded the resignation of the Minister concerned immediately on moral grounds especially for incidents like recent random killings at Kohima town, Piphema and factional clashes at Phek town where law and order machinery was collapsed and asking the state government to immediately intervene, the release added.
