TAAI's 'Indian Travel Congress' from tomorrow
Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will hold its annual 'Indian Travel Congress', the 56th convention and exhibition, at Chennai Trade Centre here from tomorrow.
Talking to newspersons here today, Convention Committee Chairman Rajji Raji said, ''with TAAI bringing over 1,500 delegates into the city, in an industry that had seen many important changes, it is apt that the convention theme is 'Growth Through Evolution''.
The three-day event would showcase Chennai and South Indian tourism, besides formulating a strategy on how the state could make it more affordable.
''With major industries like automobile, cement, glass, leather, textile, telecom and IT taking root in the state, we are confident that it will take large strides in the growth of hospitality industry in the State,'' he added.
Mr Raji said TAAI was keen to showcase the pace of growth in Tamil Nadu to its delegates at the convention.
''Though Tamil Nadu has been a slow starter, it has picked up its pace recently and the state government has initiated measures that will spur tourism in its region,'' he pointed out.
''Now
the
State

the
Centre

use
this
