Jaipur, Oct 4 (UNI) As the Gujjars' 'Jail Bharo' agitation entered its second day today, 6,172 people including Congress MP Sachin Pilot were released on bail.
According to a government spokesperson, out of the 59,541 people who courted arrest on October 2, 6,172 people were released on bail today.
Presently 53,369 people have been lodged in differnt makeshift jails in the state as part of the Gujjars' agitation for their inclusion in the Scheduled Tribe list.
Mr Pilot was released on bail on a surety of Rs 5,000 and he left for Delhi by air this evening, the spokesperson said.
Congress MLA Govind Singh Gujjar was also released on bail.
Meanwhile, expelled BJP MLA Prahlad Gunjal, who has been shifted to Jaisalmer from Kota central Jail, has ended his indefinite hunger strike following an assurance from Kota district collector of better facilites for the Gujjar volunteers who courted arrest on October 2.
