Nine killed in two different road mishaps in Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 4 (UNI) Nine people were killed and 15 others injured in two different road mishaps that took place in Karnataka today.

Police said that seven people were killed, six on the spot and one in the hospital, and 15 others injured near Harohalli in Ramanagara district when a tempo traveler in which they were traveling dashed against an autorickshaw and a scooter.

The injured were shifted to Ramanagara and Kanakapura government hospitals.

In another mishap, two people were killed on the spot when a fish loaded van collided head on with a lorry near Dharwad on Pune-Bangalore national highway bypass here in the early hours of today.

The van was on its way to Belgaum from Ankola when the mishap occurred. Both the dead have been identified as Srinath Mungadi driver of the van and Rafik Mulla both hailing from Tadadi in Kumta taluk of Uttar Kannada district.
