Mumbai, Oct 4 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray today said Hindutava is a binding force between his party and the BJP and the alliance between the two parties will remain unbreakable.

''Minor hiccups can continue in the alliance but Hindutava will continue to keep the two parties together,'' said Uddhav while speaking at a fuction organised to felicitate Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for being selected as the Best Chief Minister by Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.

The statement carries significance in the backdrop of the tension prevailing between the two parties a few days ago.

BJP national general secretary Gopinath Munde who was also present during the function, took some pot-shots at Uddhav Thackeray in his speech, while Uddhav also retorted in same vain.

Urging the city's Gujarati audience to help Mr Modi in the Gujarat assembly elections, the Sena executive president asked them to vote in favour of Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra.

''I will not say who will be the chief minister, but the alliance will be in power,'' said Uddhav while looking at Mr Munde amidst applause.

It may be recalled that sharing of the chief minister's post is one of the contentious issues between the two parties.
