Ahmedabad, Oct 4 (UNI) The Gujarat High Court has directed the Anand district court to complete proceedings within six months against BJP MLA Dilip Patel from Anand in the kidnapping and illegal confinement case.

While disposing the petition of Miteshlesh Amin, the High Court noted that a chargesheet had been filed against the BJP leader in the lower court.

Last month, Patel was arrested after he surrendered. He was later produced before a magistrate and released on Bail.

The MLA was accused of kidnapping and keeping in confinement a man identified as Miteshlesh Amin in 2003, following which the latter approached the Gujarat High Court seeking action against the legislator.

Patel was 'missing' for a long time and did not respond to summons issued to him after the High Court cancelled his interim relief, granted by a court in Anand.
