Cases under PC Act filed against STR Deputy Director

Bhubaneswar,Oct 4 (UNI) The Orissa Vigilance department has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Similipal Tiger Reserve, Baripada Deputy Director P C Behera on the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Vigilance department sources said a case was registered against Mr Behera after prima facie evidence established that he posssed assets to the tune of Rs 14,36,849 which was beyond his known source of income.

The department also filed a case against Assistant Sub-Inspector K K Pradhan of K Nuagaon outpost in Kandhamal district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from one P K Patra.

Similarly, cases were also filed against Mr Dhabaleswar Bhanja, Clerk, Tahasil Office, Berhampur, Jaya Narayan Pal, Revenue Inspector, Rangamatia under Sadar Tahasil in Mayurbhanj district for acepting bribe.

Cases were also filed against Nirmal Kumar Behera, Junior Engineer, Chandabali, Rabindra Kumar Nayak, Executant and Minati Sutar, Ex-Sarapanch, Orasahi Gram Panchayat under Chandabali Block for allegedly conniving with each other and misappropriating government money to the tune of Rs 50,000.
