Hyderabad, Oct 4 (UNI) Two people were injured when police lathicharged on a group, who were staging a road blockade on Hyderabad-Mumbai National Highway at Rayadurgam area here today.
The locals of Rayadurgam area were staging a road blockade to protest against the death of a woman, who was run over by a bus owned by the Delhi Public School (DPS) police said.
The irate locals also pelted stones at vehicles, plying on the highway.
As the situation went out of control, the police resorted to a lathicharge in which two people received minor head injuries.
The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, the school management announced an ex-gratia of Rs 15 lakh to the family of the deceased and assured to provide jobs to two members of the family.
