Reliance to get pilgrimage centres in TN connected

Chennai, Oct 3 (UNI) Leading mobile service provider Reliance Communications today announced massive expansion plans in Tamil Nadu by providing connectivity in all pilgrimage centres in the state.

In a video conference here, company president S P Shukla told reporters that ''we have decided to give full coverage in all pilgrimage centres and tourism spots in the state.'' The company was the only firm to give full mobile coverage in all 'Navagraha' temples in the state, he claimed.

Mr Shukla said that with the launch of its latest colour handset at Rs 999, the company expected to double its business.

Mr Shukla said ''we plan to target college students and house wives to increase our business by introducing various new schemes this year''.

He said the company had established a pan-India, next generation, integrated (wireless and wireline), convergent (voice, data and video) digital network that was capable of supporting best-of-class services spanning the entire Infocom value chain, covering over 10,000 towns and three lakh villages.
