Panaji, Oct 3 (UNI) Minister for Finanace Dayanand Narvekar, who is also the president of Goa Cricket Association (GCA), today said the foundation stone for the proposed international cricket stadium at Thivim in north Goa will be laid by mid-December.
Mr Narvekar, who is also the Vice-President of the BCCI, was speaking on the occcasion of the inaugural function of indoor cricket pitch at Vasco. He said the GCA would bore the total expenditure for the construction of stadium.
Saying this would be the third indoor cricket pitch, constructed by GCA, besides Thivim and one at Margao, the Minister called upon the youth to take the benefit of cricket pitches and ground and strive hard to pursue excellence in cricket. A cricket ground estimated at Rs one crore will be constructed at Porovorim, he added.
