New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Close on heels of a case of alleged attempt of rape on a lady doctor of a Delhi hospital, the National Human Rights Commission has sent a notice to the Delhi police chief and Chief Secretary on the issue of security of doctors, particularly women doctors, in the hospital.

Taking cognizance of a report 'Rape or Suicide bid', published in the 'Hindustan Times' dated September 26, the NHRC said the incident raised the issue of security of doctors, though a case of attempt to rape and murder had been registered against unidentified accused.

''The incident is a serious issue of violation of human rights of lady doctors within the hospital premises,''the NHRC said and asked the two authorities to submit a factual report on the incident in four weeks' time.

According to the press report, a 24-year-old doctor of the paediatric ward of the Employees State Insurance Corporation(ESIC), at Moti Nagar in West Delhi, was found unconscious in the hostel room of the hospital.

The report said the medical examination confirmed injury marks on her private parts and strangulation marks on her neck, suggesting that it was a case of rape and attempted murder.
