MP Men's Academy in Sub-Jr Hockey semi-final

Bhopal, Oct 3 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Men's Hockey Academy has secured a semi-final berth in the 13th National Sub-Junior Hockey Championship by beating Mumbai 11-0 at the Sports Authority of India premises here.

By halftime on the championship's sixth day yesterday, the Academy was 4-0. Aashif (4), skipper Imran Yusuf (3), Miraj Sheikh, Manohar Yadav, Sarfaraz and Pervez Ahmad (1 each) scored for the winning team.

In the other quarter-final, Namdhari XI got the better of Manipur 7-1. Malak Singh (3), Harpreet Singh, Dilbagh Singh, Navdeep Singh and Gurmel Singh (1 each) scored for Namdhari while Manipur's solitary goal was scored by Prem Chand Singh.

The event is under the aegis of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) and Sports and Youth Welfare Department.
