Milch chilling plant in HP to generate Rs 100 crore annual income

Shimla, Oct 3 (UNI) A milch chilling plant, set up in Kaffota area of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, will generate an annual income of Rs 100 crore and benefit 2,500 milk producing families who have formed 20 cooperative societies.

The rural women would be the main beneficiaries of the programme as dairy farming was the best self-employment avocation for the rural masses and generate immediate employment and income, State Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing a public meeting.

He said an ITI would be opened in Kaffota, which has also been upgraded to a full-fledged tehsil of Kamrau after inaugurating the plant, constructed at a cost of Rs 85 lakh, and laying a foundation stone of Science Block of Government Senior Secondary School, Kaffota.

Mr Singh also announced the upgradation of Government High School at Katwal and Channi to Senior Secondary Schools, Government Middle Schools at Poka and Kando Shagawa to Government High School.

Referring to the launch of the ''Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna'' launched at Shimla yesterday, he said the rural people need to be educated and provided awareness about the scheme.
