Mah CM takes review meeting of power situation

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today took a review meeting of the power situation in Maharashtra and said he will take up the issue of starting 1000 mega watt gas-based power project at Uran, near here, with the help of Central government.

The review meeting was attended by state Energy Minister Dilip Valse-Patil and officials of the three power companies.

The meeting reviewed all the private and government power projects upto 2011-2012 and the demand and supply of power and the problems faced by the power sector.

In the meeting, Mr Deshmukh asked the officials to make all efforts for supplying the gas to Uran power project, which will generate 250 MW power.

Maharashtra continues to face the power shortage of around 4,000 MW.
