Lok Sabha Speaker lauds Lions Clubs' philanthropic efforts
New Delhi, Oct 03 (UNI) One of the world's largest service organisations Lions Clubs International has approved a grant of more than Rs eight crore for humanitarian projects in India, including 'Campaign Sight', flood relief and upgradation of hospitals.
The grant is part of the Rs 30 crore aid being given worldwide by the Lions International, according to a 'Lions' release.
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, while lauding the effort, said Lions Clubs' contribution for 'Campaign Sight' would act as a motivating force for others to emulate.
Their philanthrophy is worth appreciating, he added.
