Ranchi, Oct 3 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed state government to submit the status report on every first week of the month in connection with cleanliness of the state capital.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagyavinayagam and Justice Amreshwar Sahay, passed the order while hearing two different Public Interest Litigation filed by one Rakesh Jha and Rani Kumari in connection with the drainage system and Municipal corporation Act.
Since the matter was related to the Ranchi Municipal Corporation the court clubbed both the cases.
Mr Rahul Saboo, Amicus Curie(AC) of the case, informed the court that cleanliness of the state capital was not up to the mark bad adding no one was there to look into the matter.
Mr Saboo said there were particular areas which were not cleaned by the Ranchi Muncipal Corporation adding the areas should be identified .
Taking serious view of it the court observed that the state government should do the maintenance on the pattern of Jamshedpur and Bokaro cities which were very good and the government should identify and entrust those agencies for maintenance of the state capital.
Mr SB Gadodia appearing on behalf of the state government pleaded that the uncleaned areas of the state capital has been identified and very soon special drive would begun to clean those areas as festivals like Durga Puja, Deepawali, Chhat nearing.
