Centre's decision to enhance ad allocation hailed
Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) The All India Small and Medium Daily Newspapers Federation today hailed the Centre's decision to enhance advertisement allocation to small and medium newspapers from ten to 15 per cent and 30 to 35 per cent, respectively.
''The Centre's decision to enhance the advertisement allocation is a ray of hope for survival of such newspapers,'' said 'Krishna Patrika', Editor P Venkateswarulu in a statement here.
He said, ''The announcement is a significant victory to the owners of the newspapers. We appeal to all the state governments to enhance advertisement revenue on the lines of the Centre.'' The 'Krishna Patrika', a 106-year-old Telugu national daily, would hold an All-India Workshop on ''The Role of Small and Medium Daily Newspapers in the Democratic Polity of the Country'' here on October six and seven.
